Berry Bickle works in the media of painting, video and photography. For many years, she has dealt with issues of the theory and practice of totalitarianism and postcolonialism. Against the background of her own roots, she addresses the social consequences of political systems past, present and future. The artist makes frequent use of documentary texts and fragments of writing from the colonial era or embeds crucial sources from contemporary discourses of power in her works.
